Abstract:
The most widely accepted accurate assessment of gastric emptying is based on
scintigraphic scanning methods using a gamma camera to measure radiolabeled
meal contents in the stomach. Due to the limitations of using this method in
some settings (e.g.children and pregnant women, large community based epidemiologic
studies), stable isotope breath sample methods have been introduced to measure
gastric emptying. This talk will describe several approaches to developing reliable
breath sample based estimates of scintigraphically measured gastric emptying.
All are Welcome.
