These data are from Potthoff and Roy (1964). An orthodontic study was conducted on 27 children, 11 girls and 16 boys, who were all of age 8 at the beginning of the study. On each child, the distance from the center of the pituitary to the pteryomaxillary fissure was measured (in mm) every two years through age 14. The study objectives were to determine if the distances are larger for boys than for girls and if the rate of change of distance differs between boys and girls. Potthoff and Roy (1964).
