About This Site

This site was recently updated to use MuseMode which is the successor of emacs-wiki. Using Emacs and MuseMode, it is very easy to write hyperlinked documents in plain text and convert them into various formats (including HTML and LaTeX). The ability to embed Emacs Lisp also reduces typing repetitive texts without the need for fancy dynamic server-side scripting.

The layout and formatting of the pages are entirely based on CSS. No client side scripting is used so the content should be accessible to any browser, including text-mode ones like Lynx and Links (my favorite among this category is Emacs-w3m.)

Still different browsers render the pages differently. Mozilla Firebird is recommended because it is free, fast, standard compliant and customizable. It is available for Linux, Windows as well as Mac OS X. On Mac I prefer Camino, a native Cocoa application that integrates witht programs such as Keychain. Safari is getting better on Mac OS X and has been my primary browser. There are some sites that do not support Safari however such as Google Documents.
