You will need access to SAS Version 8.2 or higher. If you do not have access elsewhere, you will need an account on the Biostatistics UNIX network.

If you are unfamiliar with the UNIX operating system and you will be using SAS, R, or S-Plus via the Biostatistics UNIX network, here is a very brief introduction to logging on to the network, creating files, and running programs.

If you would like to learn R under Windows (free software, I use it primarily for graphing), here is a short tutorial. To install a copy of R on your own PC, follow the instructions in the introduction.
